Local Day Spas in Mullumbimby NSW

During the Easter holidays I went to Byron Bay. The Kiva Spa is a magical locals haven that was recommended to me.So with a bit of research I found my way up to a quaint little town only 20 minutes from Byron called Mullumbimby. Wow was I surprised to be met by a Balinese oasis garden as I opened the big wooden door which led off the lane way. Tranquil music and cleansing sage drifted through the air of the ambient gardens. Behind private bamboo screens I could see two very large spa baths and a plunge pool. Some clients were sitting on the veranda resting with their herb tea whilst reading a book and another was under a gazebo doing some yoga. Everyone looked happy and everyone looked distressed! I was then shown a little door behind some bushes and I was told that was the very special Kiva sauna, and indeed it was the most unusual too. Like a fairy door I had to get down on my hands and knees and crawl inside, only to find a hot circular room lit with fairy lights. Apparently the design is based on the Native American sweat loges and ceremonial fire circles. My senses were invigorated when I alternated between the various spa facilities and after 1 hour I was ready for my massage. There were still a few aches and pains that needed attention. A beautiful lady called my name and I was whisked away to a candle lit massage room that smelt of jasmine. I had chosen a Hawaiian Kahuna therapist because I had heard great reviews, and was I spoilt. She asked me how I was feeling and what I wanted and I received probably the best top to toe massage ever. In a blissful state, I became a tea sipping client on the veranda. With a grin from ear to ear, I was so ready to start my holiday. I will always remember my first visit to The Kiva Spa. So whether you are holidaying in Byron Bay or the Gold Coast or just driving between Sydney and Brisbane, absolutely look up The Kiva Spa in Mullumbimby it is one of the best holiday destinations in Australia.
