Five Stars to Bret and MicroMac. Took my Toshiba All In One for repair, would not switch on when Button was pressed. The Computer was repaired within two days. The problem was that the front Panel Button was not making contact with a piece of plastic that switched on the computer. Cost me only a small diagnostic fee. They could have easily told me that a major part had failed, but they are 100% honest. Will use them again if I have a Computer problem. David Chain Valley Bay

Different computer parts and their uses

There are six main parts of a computer that, when put together properly, will give you a fully functioning pc.

Central Processing Unit (CPU): The ‘brain’ of the computer. It makes calculations based on input from the user and executes programs.
Random Access Memory (RAM): RAM feeds data directly into the CPU. As the memory is variable, the data is lost when the computer is shut down.
Hard Drive: To preserve data when the computer is off. Saved documents, applications and media is stored in a disk drive or solid state drive.
Video Card: Provides image output on a screen via a VGA, DVI, or HDMI port.
Motherboard: Receives power from the power supply and connects all the components together. The motherboard also contains controllers to allow certain components to interact.
Power supply: Supplies power to the motherboard. Without power, your computer would just be a scrap of metal!
