BCF Australia Pty Ltd

One of my workmates birthday was coming up and they were dead keen on fishing, and I was given the job of buying a present for them. I had only ever been fresh water fishing and my workmate was a salt water fisher and I had no idea what to buy for salt water fishing. I contacted BCF who were able to help me, they told me to come in and they would be able to recommend some gear for salt water fishing. I went in and one of their staff helped me pick some fishing hooks and squidgies which they had used and were good for catching Mangrove Jack. My workmate was really happy with their present and if I need any more fishing advice or equipment Ill become back to BCF as they stock heaps of equipment and there staff a really nice.

Handy tips

Which is better—buying or renting camping gear?

If you are going on a camping trip soon, you are probably wondering whether you should buy or rent outdoor equipment. Let’s look at the pros of both to help you decide:

Buying:

  • You just need to pay once to use the camping gear as much as you want. This is especially beneficial if you plan to go camping often in the future.
  • You have more options. Depending on the camping store, you may be able to rent only a few items, such as a hiking tent and a hot plate. But if you want to carry a variety of items, such as a sleeping bag, compass or lantern, you should opt for buying gear.

Renting:

  • You will save money. If you are an infrequent camper and are looking for basic camping supplies, renting will work out to be cheaper for you.
  • You don’t have to store gear in the house. Once you are back from your trip you return the equipment to the camping shop.

Think through which approach—buying or renting camping gear—suits your needs. Search our website for camping shops near you.
