Handy tips

How does a custom aluminium fabrication service get the job done?

Custom metal fabricators must be able to interpret complex blueprints and create the finished product to exact requirements. So, how do they get it done?

Aluminium fabrication is the process of cutting, bending and assembling metal to create a finished product. These three basic methods are used to deliver services such as robotics, optics, fabrication and customisation. Aluminium extrusion suppliers must be able to deliver to exact measurements.

The cutting process is done by methods of sawing, shearing or chiselling using a torch such as an oxy-fuel torch or plasma torch. Bending aluminium is done by hammering, either manually with a hammer or using a machine. Finally, the assembly is done by welding the pieces of aluminium together. Other tools of the trade include brake presses, augers, bolts, band saws and diamond wire cutting machines.
