I would like to say a big thank you to the team there at the Urgent Care Centre. I came in yesterday morning 28/09/20 after having a fall from a height and landing heavily on my back I was in significant pain and had very limited ability to move. I was very quickly assessed by the team who made me as comfortable as they could and then administered some pain relief. I found the staff to be very caring and friendly with the utmost professionalism. Today I am resting comfortably at home, feeling a huge sense of gratitude for the care I received yesterday. Your staff are a credit to our community.

Are you eligible for an aged care service?

The Australian government prescribes that elderly people, of 65 years and above or for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 50 years and above, are eligible for the government funded aged care support services.

When applying, a face-to -face assessment is undertaken to determine one’s eligibility. If deemed that indeed you or your loved one needs aged care services or residential care, a partial or fully subsidised service regulated by the government shall be granted.

For cases that still require a certain amount of payment, the cost here varies and depends on the following factors:

financial situation
the number and types of services needed (can be aged care services at home, short term aged care services or services that requires admittance to residential care home)
the service provider’s fees

If assessed to have qualified for an aged care home, a financial assessment from the Department of Human Services is also needed as soon as possible.

Applying for an aged care service may be a tedious process, but contacting a residential aged care facility or an aged care home near you can help you go through all that with ease.
